No. 2 - Bookmarking
In Thing #2 you will be introduced to the idea of social bookmarking. One of the greatest advantages of social bookmarking is that you can access and add to your collection of bookmarks from multiple computers. Never again will you have to question whether you bookmarked a favorite website at home, school, or somewhere else.
In addition to the convenience of having organized bookmarks wherever you are at, online bookmarking can also be social. We can share bookmarks amongst people with similar interests with confidence that the information is reliable.
Delicious.com was one of the the first sites to facilitate social bookmarking and remains the most popular. Watching the videos below and visiting this link will reinforce the benefits noted above and will also show you how to setup your own delicious site.
For Thing #2:
Create your own delicious site with at least ten bookmarks. I encourage you to use tags. In your blog post for Thing #2 post a link to your delicious site (delicious.com/username) and reflect on how you think social bookmarking can be used in your teaching or professional practice.
